This week, we're taking a look at the La Grange Public Library.  This is a top-notch community resource that's not only full of books--it also has hundreds of programs and activities, multimedia rentals, and even a digital media lab.  Check out some of their offerings!

The library has many programs for all ages.  For the youngest library patrons, there's toddler story time, preschool story time, craft days, art studio and all kinds of creative play classes.  Teens and young adults can join the Teen Advisory Board, which helps make the library a fun place for teens.  They plan activities,  suggest materials and events, and get to help in curating a library that they'd like to visit.  Some of their recent activities included a teen movie night with a showing of Elf, a teen writer's workshop, a final exams study workshop, and even an anime night.  The librarians can also assist you in researching and finding new books to read.  For adults, the programs are endless.  There are a variety of book clubs, author visits, writer's workshops, computer classes, social and educational programs, and even adult craft classes.  Check out some of the library's amazing events here

You can now check out more than just books at the La Grange Public Library.  They have CDs, DVDs, and Blu-Rays, and you can even check out media equipment like a Roku, a GoPro Camera, a DVD-to-VHS converter, tripods, still cameras, and more.  The digital media lab, called Studio 10 West, is a new feature for the library that has creative software, design software, and more,  along with help in using them.

One of the best features of the library is its connection to the community.  Not only is it right in downtown La Grange, making it easy to peruse the wonderful shops and restaurants, the library can also connect you to the larger Chicago community as a distributor of the Museum Adventure Pass.  This allows you and your family to continue learning in many of the museums in Chicago and the suburbs.  To get more information about the library, visit lagrangelibrary.org, or better yet, pay them a visit at 10 W. Cossitt Ave!
