La Grange Park has a lively recreational and cultural scene to entertain the whole family.  La Grange Park has access to multiple pools, including the Village Field Club located in La Grange Park with its own swim team and great facilities, La Grange Field Club, only 9 minutes away, which offers swimming, diving, and tennis lessons, The Western Springs pool, only 11 minutes away, with similar amenities, plus two water slides a diving board, and 9 minutes away from La Grange Park, the La Grange Country Club, founded in 1899, also has a pool, family and adult activities, and a renovated golf course that has twice hosted the U.S. Women’s Open. Butterfield Country Club is another country club located approximately 14 minutes away that La Grange Park residents can also attend.

The Community Park District of La Grange Park offers activities for kids and families, as well as sports and playgrounds. The Park District offers 5 sports leagues for adults and teens, along with summer camps and activities for younger kids. The district offers over 20 acres of local parks and green space with amenities like lighted baseball, basketball, volleyball and tennis courts, six picnic areas and a sledding hill for the winter. The Brookfield Zoo, which as been ranked highly for years, only 7 minutes away, is perfect for a family afternoon. With over 450 species of animals, and camps, programs, and events for the whole family, there is no shortage of entertainment at the zoo. Family memberships, with unlimited admission for two adults and their children, and access to guest tickets (as well as other add-on discounts) begin at only $105 for a full year.

Shopping is prevalent in the area as well. La Grange Park is within walking distance to Downtown La Grange, where there are tons of antique shops, clothing stores, candy shops, and some workout studios. Some of the shops located in Downtown La Grange include: Core Power YogaImpact Dance StudioAlixandra Collection, Fannie May, Daily Method, and Olivaceto. Also located in Downtown La Grange, the La Grange Theatre has been showing productions since it was first built in 1925, and now shows movies that have already been released in bigger theatres. They charge $6.00 for children ages 2-11 and seniors, $6.50 for adults, and only charge $5.50 for matinees before 6:00pm. La Grange Park is a short 15-20 minute drive from Oakbrook Center, an outdoor mall with 165 shops, and Yorktown Mall, with over 105 stores and a movie theater.

The Theatre of Western Springs has live performances for the whole family, as well as camps and classes for kids.
